TV Producers by Merek Canterman

TV Producers make sure there’s enough money in the budget to cover the cost of the TV show and cut cost as needed. Producers pick scripts that fit the production and make sure it will be finished on time. They hire the directors and approve the actors and make sure everyone gets paid. Although TV producers have no specific educational path, they often have a background in business, finance, writing or acting.

Television shows cannot be produced without an idea. You may already have ideas for a television show. If so, that is a great place to start. If you have not come up with any ideas yet, you can start to brainstorm. While brainstorming, write down activities that you are passionate about and skills that you already possess. Some may put too much thinking into generating television ideas. However, it can be an easy process if you allow yourself to stay within your comfort zone.

If you have a desire to produce television shows, you can do it. All you need is a great desire to be successful in this business and you need the time it takes to do the productions. You might need time for rehearsals if your show is one that requires rehearsals. But you can begin with hardly any money at all.

TV Producers oversee the business and financial decisions for television programs and movies. TV Producers make hiring decisions and ensure that all financial obligations are met. To become a TV Producer, one should earn a bachelor’s degree with courses in project management, accounting, drama and arts management. Gaining experience through internships or positions at small TV stations or theaters will help aspiring TV Producers acquire the skills and networking connections needed to advance in this competitive field.

Here are 5 steps to becoming a TV Producer

Step 1: Researching TV Producer Career Duties and Education

TV Producers make sure there’s enough money in the budget to cover the cost of the TV show and cut cost as needed. Producers pick scripts that fit the production and make sure it will be finished on time. They hire the directors and approve the actors and make sure everyone gets paid. Although TV producers have no specific educational path, they often have a background in business, finance, writing or acting, says the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, www.bls.gov.

Step 2: Complete an Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Business

Since TV Producers handle the business side of things, it’s important to be familiar with finance and business, which a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree program can provide. The BLS suggests that taking courses or a minor in drama, acting or arts management will round out your education. If you can, find an internship.

Step 3: Become a Television Assistant

Start working at a small local theater or even the local high school or your college. Work with the TV producer or the play director to garner more experience, says Careers Advice, careersadvice.direct.gov.uk.

Step 4: Work at a Local TV Station

Experience will help you rise through the ranks and take on bigger challenges. Local TV stations or TV stations in small cities are often hiring because the turnover rate is higher, and they’re comfortable breaking in new TV Producers, according to Careers Advice.

Step 5: Produce a Television Show or Film

While using your professional resume to find bigger challenges, also produce a film or TV show. It showcases your abilities and gives you something to show others, which can lead to more opportunities, even if they’re low budget.

Starting a Company Recycling Program

There is no doubt that recycling reusable materials is healthy for the environment. Recycling paper, metal, and plastic reduces the need to create more products from natural resources, and allows consumers to get the products they need created from materials that have already been used. Many people already recycle the things they use in their homes, and hundreds of thousands of pounds of recyclables are made into new products every year from the products private consumers don’t throw away.

Many employers have also begun company recycling programs, to do their part for the environment and encourage recycling throughout the workplace. Company recycling is a relatively simple office policy to implement, and can have a great impact on office morale and community spirit.

A company recycling program can begin small, with recycling bins placed in convenient locations, such as in break rooms. Trashcans or storage containers labeled for plastic, metal, and paper, are simple to make and can be placed just about anywhere. A few simple signs reminding employees to recycle will help to ensure recyclables make it into their appropriate containers.

To take company recycling to a higher level, employers can offer incentives to collect recyclables or hold competitions to see which offices or staff members can collect the most. Many towns and cities have recycling pickup for free or for a small fee, and if these services do not exist where your business is located most towns have localized recycling facilities where recyclables can be dropped off.

Creating a company recycling program will show your employees and customers that you care about the environment and community. It creates a positive image for your business, and helps to cut down on the use of natural resources in a bigger way than one person can do alone. A company recycling program also influences everyone who enters a business from employees to customers, and encourages them to recycle at home, further propagating the cycle of re-use and environmental awareness.

Phishing Emails Decline

Phishing is the criminally fraudulent process of attempting to acquire sensitive information such as usernames, passwords and credit card details by masquerading as a trustworthy entity in an electronic communication. If the recipients click on a link in a phishing e-mail, they land on a rogue Web site that captures their passwords, account numbers or any other information they might enter.

A report being released Wednesday by IBM Corp. shows a big drop in the volume of “phishing” e-mails. The slower growth may be a sign that anti-virus and anti-spyware software is beginning to stem the tide of attacks, or simply that phishing has lost its novelty and that recipients are becoming desensitized to the attacks, said Peter Cassidy, secretary general of the APWG.

Experts belive that these online criminals may be working on other techniques to steal your information and warn that phishing email increase around the holidays. Another technique being used by these criminals is trojan horse programs, which are used to spy on victims and are even capable of crashing victim’s computer.

Trojan horses are designed to allow a hacker remote access to a target computer system. Once a Trojan horse has been installed on a target computer system it is possible for a hacker to access it remotely and perform operations. The operations that a hacker can perform are limited by user privileges on the target computer system and the design of the Trojan horse itself.

Operations which could be performed by a hacker on a target computer system include:

* Use of the machine as part of a Botnet (e.g. to perform Distributed Denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks)
* Data Theft (e.g. passwords, security codes, credit card information)
* Installation of software (including other malware)
* Downloading of files
* Uploading of files
* Deletion of files
* Modification of files
* Keystroke logging
* Viewing the user’s screen

To protect your self from these threats it is recommended that you update your ativirus, spyware and firewall programs.

Foreclosure Debt

Foreclosure numbers continue to rise due mainly to unemployment numbers. As the economy is seeing signs of improvement the unemployment rate is still at record highs. Until this is corrected home foreclosures are going to remain a major issue for the US economy. There are man things you can do during these tough times to avoid foreclosure.

There are some myths about foreclosure, bankruptcy and credit. If you don’t have the facts, it’s impossible to make the best decisions. Take time to learn about foreclosure, the potential impact on your credit, and some steps you can take if you’re facing foreclosure.

Many people think that once they’ve settled a debt - no matter how that comes about - the impact on the credit report is negated. That’s not true and your decisions will remain a part of your credit history, probably for seven years. That means that your decision to enter foreclosure will be there for every potential creditor for many years, impacting your ability to obtain credit.

Foreclosure is only slightly better than bankruptcy. Some people call bankruptcy a “clean slate.” In truth, a bankruptcy will likely remain part of your credit score for even longer - usually ten years.

Foreclosure situations don’t happen overnight. Most people struggle for months (or longer) before the final straw. Often, payments are a little late at first. As the mountain of debt grows, payments are later. Late charges rack up, making it more difficult to catch up. One of the most important steps you can take to avoid foreclosure happens now - well before you’ve even considered foreclosure as a possibility.

Start by making every attempt to make your payments on time, every time. If you see that a payment is going to be late, contact your finance company. Though it’s usually tempting to avoid the phone calls that accompany late payments, be proactive. Let the company know that you’re having a problem and look for some options. Some finance companies will allow you to pay interest only on a payment, tacking the principle onto the end of the note. This isn’t a long-term solution that should be taken at the least sign of a problem, but could be the answer to getting your finances back on target.

How are Credit Scores Calculated?

Your credit score determines if you will qualify for financing, the interest rate you will pay for mortgages and loans, the cost of your insurance premiums, and can even affect your chances of securing employment. Because credit scores are so important, many people wonder exactly how credit reporting agencies calculate a person’s credit score.

Unfortunately, the exact formula used to calculate a credit score remains a mystery to consumers, and many people suspect it is actually a mystery to the credit reporting agencies as well. While it is impossible to know the mathematical formula they use to calculate credit scores, we do know the various factors credit reporting agencies use to calculate a person’s credit.

Credit scores are calculated by analyzing a person’s payment history, the amount of credit a person has been extended, the ratio of outstanding debt to available credit, the length of time that credit accounts have been open, and any unpaid or delinquent accounts.

Payment history is a straightforward part of the credit score puzzle, with consistently on-time payment increasing credit scores and late payments decreasing them.

The amount of credit you have will also help or hurt your credit score. The more credit you have, the higher your credit score will be, unless you have a high debt to credit ratio. If the balance of your loans or credit cards is a high or even moderate percentage of your total available credit, it will bring your credit score down.

The longer your credit accounts have been established and in good standing, the higher your credit score will be. Too many new credit accounts can lower your credit score, so opening new credit cards or taking out new loans just before you want to apply for financing such as a mortgage or car loan is not usually a good idea.

Perhaps the most damaging factor for credit scores are accounts that are not in good standing, because they are unpaid, delinquent, or late. The best way to raise and maintain a good credit score is to always make credit payments on time, keep a low debt to credit ratio, do not open too many new accounts at one time, and make sure no bills become delinquent.

Medical Review Solutions

Medical Review Solutions started in 2002 and quickly grew to become a leader in the hospital & medical bill review sector of the healthcare industry.

The high cost of healthcare, combined with the complexity of the billing system, has become a major concern for payers. Furthermore, payers are becoming acutely aware that healthcare bills often contain substantial errors. This awareness has become especially prevalent since the subject of overcharges has become an issue at the center of local, regional and national media attention.

Although payers are aware of the problem most lack the specialized knowledge and skill to do bill review themselves. Many are turning to Medical Bill Reviewers to handle the review process on their behalf.

About Us

With a background in establishing EDI systems for healthcare applications, Medical Review Solutions is well versed in the healthcare industry as a whole - especially in cost reduction and containment strategies.

We keep our fingers on the pulse of what is happening in the healthcare industry to insure we position ourselves on the leading edge. As payers were becoming more aware of the immense and costly problem of billing errors, Medical Review Solutions quickly realized there would be a need for Medical Bill Reviewers. With this in view, we designed powerful software tools and a comprehensive training program to educate and equip individuals to enter this field. With the tools and step-by-step training we provide a person can now join this growing and dynamic profession.

With baby boomers aging, overall healthcare expenditures continue to escalate. The good news is: the demand for bill review services is growing right along with it.

Mission Statement

1. To provide an opportunity for the economic and professional growth of our Licensees/Solution Providers.

2. To continually conduct innovative research and develop leading edge strategies and technologies in the field of hospital & medical bill review.

3. To provide an environment for the growth and career development of our employees.

4. To be a contributing factor in solving the problem of the high cost of healthcare by directly addressing billing errors and other cost reduction issues.

Philosophy

Our overall philosophy is really quite simple and practical. We endeavor to provide a viable and cost effective solution to a specific targeted problem. Furthermore, the solution we provide must be measurable.

There is a huge problem in the healthcare industry. This problem accounts for over $10 billion dollars per year in inadvertent billing errors. When waste and abuse are added in, the amount rises to over $100 billion. This increases the overall cost of health care and at the same time decreases the quality of care.

Although identifying a problem is well and good it is not nearly enough. Discovering problems is only step one. Providing tangible solutions is what defines us and our Licensees/Solution Providers.

Healthcare payers have a problem and we provide a solution to their problem. What is the solution we provide? We provide software tools and training to individuals so they can become Medical Bill Reviewers and work with the payer community to insure they are being billed correctly for healthcare.

This is a very valuable service to payers because with the right tools and training a Medical Bill Reviewer can save a payer thousands, and in some cases, millions of dollars, in healthcare expenditures. For obvious reasons payers are interested in these substantial savings.

Capital Remodeling on Building Green

New Green Building initiative by Capital Remodeling

Green building, also called sustainable design, is a term that is sweeping across the construction industry. Green building involves making a concentrated effort to reduce the construction industry’s carbon footprint. Obviously this involves certain decisions that affect decisions and practices during the construction phase, such as transport of resources and supplies, worker practices, and the proper disposal / recycling of left over materials. Green building practices go far beyond the immediate reduction of a construction company’s carbon footprint, however. It should extend well into, and beyond, the life of the building project to have a positive and long term impact on the surrounding community and, by extension, the environment in general.

In order to effectively streamline resources and practices, and truly maximize the efficient usage of materials and resources, careful attention must be paid to design, construction, and maintenance.

Green building practices will concentrate on three specific areas and resources; environmentally friendly materials, energy consumption, and water efficiency. Of course a fourth area, the health and well being of the building project’s intended occupants as well as the community, of which the building project will become a part of, should also be heavily considered.

The main focus of green building and design is to create a neutral to positive impact on the environment. The rewards for choosing to work with the environment instead of against it are obvious and numerous. There are, however, many financial benefits associated with green building practices, as well. A green building project that has been thoughtfully and skilfully designed, constructed and, of course maintained, will reduce overall construction costs by as much as 25%, will significantly lower maintenance costs, and provide other forms of monetary savings and benefits. On top of this, tax breaks, rebates, and positive branding will also contribute to the financial benefits that will result as an outcome of green building and business practices.

In order to effectively streamline resources and practices, and truly maximize the efficient usage of materials and resources, careful attention must be paid to design, construction, and maintenance. Design involves an emphasis on minimizing materials and waste, reusable and recyclable resources are chosen over other materials, and energy and water efficiency is planned at every stage. Along with reusable materials, cool roofing options are also utilized. Guidelines and restrictions for cool roofing colours vary from state to state so it is a good idea to look into exactly what is required before you build.

While looking into guidelines for cool roofing, it is important to also look into LEED certification requirements. LEED is put in place to provide standards of practice for sustainable design, or green building.

The Harwood Enterprises Process

The Harwood Enterprises Vehicle Restoration Process

Vehicle Evaluation

The first step in every restoration is to thoroughly inspect the vehicle. We go through every inch of the car from top to bottom using a 115 point inspection process.

This includes driving the car to obtain an accurate drivetrain analysis. This evaluation is then used to write a detailed estimate.

Customer Consultation

Upon completion of the vehicle evaluation, we meet with the customer either in person or by phone conference. The goals here are to review what was found in the evaluation, and determine exactly what the customer is looking for. Many customers are not sure whether they want a driver, show, or concours car. We will help you make an informed decision.

Written Estimates

We then write one or more estimates based on our consultation. These estimates are very detailed descriptions of the work to be done, and the parts to be purchased or made. You won’t find “one liner” estimates here.

Disassembly & Paint Stripping

Your car will be completely disassembled down to the last bolt, and then prepped for paint stripping.

Depending on the car, it will be mounted on a rotisserie or body cart, and the appropriate paint removal method will be used. We will not work on top of previous finishes.

Metal & Body

Rusted and damaged areas will be removed and replaced with new material. Whether we’re working with steel, aluminum, or fiberglass our technicians are experts. All panels are test fit over and over again during the process to ensure proper fit. The body is then sculpted to perfection, and sent on to paint. The frame, suspension and chassis parts, and other small parts are given the same attention.

Paint

Each car gets completely painted, inside and out, in our full downdraft spray booth. The frame and all parts are also painted to match factory specs. Once the paint is cured the car is wet sanded and buffed to perfection.

Assembly

Your car will be carefully assembled, with incredible attention to detail. Engine, transmission, overdrive, and differential are all completely rebuilt. The interior and upholstery will be installed, and all chrome and trim is restored.

Road Test

We put about 500 miles on each car we restore to be sure that everything is operating properly. This allows us to break in the engine and make the necessary valve, carb, and timing adjustments. The alignment is dialed in, and final changes are made. When the car is returned to you it’s ready to drive and enjoy!

Other Included Services

We provide a complete photo record of the restoration process to go with the vehicle. We also provide research and documentation to support the vehicle history.

Transport of the car is always an issue, so we work very closely with several closed carriage transport companies. We will arrange shipping for you, making your life easier.
